What to do if you lose your CampusCard or if it stops working
Information for students
What to do:
- Apply for a new card in the card portal in Stud.IP (click on the CampusCard icon).
When you submit your application, your old CampusCard is automatically blocked. You can also block the card in Stud.IP using the action "Block card". The block will take effect at the latest on the following business day.
The catering payments function (refectory and cafeterias) is blocked by Student Services Association staff in the MensaCard office. The block will also take effect the following business day. The vending machine payment function is not affected by the block. Please contact the MensaCard office directly (room 163 in the Library Building). - Lost cards that have been returned are forwarded to the CampusCard office. You will receive an e-mail informing you that your card has been handed in. Once your card is returned the CampusCard office of the Student Registration Office (room VW 004) will lift the block on your card.
- If the card is not found within four weekdays, we will print a new card after your application.
- Then transfer the replacement card fee (writing "Ersatzkarte Matr.-Nr.:, family name, first name" in the reference line) to Universität Passau, Sparkasse Passau IBAN: DE52 7405 0000 0240 2512 49, BIC/SWIFT Code: BYLADEM1PAS.
- Please then send proof of payment to studierendenausweis@uni-passau.de. The card will only be printed once we have received this proof.
- Do you still have credit on the old card? Together with your new card you will receive the credit transfer form ("Guthabenübertragung"). You can use this to have your credit transferred from your old card to your new one. To transfer your catering credit, go to the MensaCard office(room 163 in the Library Building); the copier/printer balance is transferred in the copy centre in the WIWI Building.
- What if the CampusCard turns up again after you've reported it lost and paid the fee (and the new card has not been printed yet)? Hand in the application for reimbursement at the CampusCard office (room VW 004) or send it to studierendenausweis@uni-passau.de.
"Visible technical defect" means defects of the CampusCard that occur due to improper handling, e.g. the card is bent or broken.

To transfer your catering credit, go to the MensaCard office(room 163 in the Library Building); the copier/printer balance is transferred in the copy centre in the WIWI Building.
If your card is defective or unreadable without visible external damage, please proceed as follows:
- The technical defect must be documented by means of a routing slip [German content].
- Apply for a new card in the card portal in Stud.IP (click on the CampusCard icon).
When you submit your application, your old CampusCard is automatically blocked. The block will take effect at the latest on the following business day. The catering payments function (refectory and cafeterias) is blocked by Student Services Association staff in the MensaCard office. The block will also take effect on the following working day at the latest. - The new card will be printed as soon as you present the defective card, together with the routing slip, to the CampusCard office (room VW 004).

- the copy function: contact the copy centre in the ground floor of the (WIWI Building, Innstrasse 27)
- the catering payment function: contact the MensaCard office (room 163 in the Library Building, Innstrasse 29)
- locker access: contact the library staff at the nearest information or circulation desk
- building access: contact the staff at the respective facility
- the legibility of the validation date: contact the CampusCard Team of the Student Registration Office (Administration Building, Innstrasse 41)

Information for staff members
What to do:
- In case of card loss or defect, apply for your replacement card in the card portal of your Stud.IP profile. When you submit your application, your old CampusCard is automatically blocked. The block will take effect at the latest on the following business day. You can also block the card in the Stud.IP card portal if your card is lost or stolen.
The catering payments function (refectory and cafeterias) is blocked by Student Services Association staff in the MensaCard office. The block will also take effect the following business day. The vending machine payment function is not affected by the block. Please contact the MensaCard office directly, Library Building room 163. - Fill in the CampusCard replacement form.
- Please pay any outstanding fees at the pay office. The pay office will confirm receipt of payment on your replacement form.
- You will be notified by e-mail when your card is ready for collection. Please collect your CampusCard during the office hours of the Human Resources Division. When coming in to collect your card, you should bring along: the completed replacement form and your old CampusCard, if available.
- When you collect your new card, you will receive a credit transfer form.
- Using this form, you can arrange to have your balance transferred to the new card at the Mensacard office and in the copy centre.
Instead of using the Stud.IP card portal you can also apply for the card at the Human Resources office. To do so, send an e-mail requesting a CampusCard to the personnel office. Please attach a picture to the e-mail if you wish to have one included on your card. If you prefer not to have your picture on the CampusCard, you will need to bring along photographic ID when borrowing items from the University Library.
