Outlook Desktop App
You can: Outlook both via the web browser (OWA), as well as via the desktop app already installed on your office computer.
Note: To log in to the e-mail system you need your user name (ZIM username) and your password(without @uni-passau.de or @ads.uni-passau.de)!
Step 1:
First click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner.
Step 2:
Scroll down to the Outlook folder.
Step 3:
Click on the Outlook icon to open the application.
Step 4:
Please log in with your ZIM credentials.
Step 5:
With a right click you can pin the application to your taskbar via 'Pin to taskbar'.
If you’re using Cached Exchange Mode, an e-mail message can remain in outgoing mail for up to one minute, until the next synchronisation is made with the server on which the exchange is executed.
To provide the optimal use of Outlook, we ask that you deactivate Cached Exchange Mode.
Note: This option is only available on your local office computer. If you use Outlook under Citrix, the cache is automatically and regularly cleared by the ZIM.
Step 1:
As a first step, click on the tab 'File'.
Step 2:
Then select 'Account Settings', then select 'Account Settings' again.
Step 3:
A window will appear. If your Outlook account isn’t selected automatically, click on it and then on 'Change'.
Step 4:
An additional window with your settings will open. It will give you the option to set or remove the tick next to Cached Exchange Mode. Please remove it. To finish, click 'Next'.
Step 5:
As a final step, you’ll need to restart. Restart your device.
