How to secure your files

Secure your files before dismantling your old PC ( on a network drive or an external storage medium, for example). Important: You must 'Copy' the files, not 'Move' them.
Look over the secured data to make sure they are complete and legible.
Store the data on the new device. Then look them over to make sure they are complete and legible. Test to see whether you can open the files on your new PC.

Please be sure to include all user-specific data in the backup!

PC, please make sure they cannot be directly taken over onto the new device. A new installation will be necessary, for which you’ll need the original data storage devices and any necessary serial numbers.
